Egypt is aiming to seize between 5-8 percent of the international commercial market for green hydrogen, according to the country's Minister of Electricity, Mohamed Shaker. Shaker disclosed that a national strategy is currently being finalized and will be soon presented to the National Hydrogen Council for approval by the Supreme Council of Energy. Shaker emphasized that green hydrogen is predicted to expand swiftly in the years ahead, acting as a significant driver of the energy transformation and contributing to global decarbonization efforts. The strategy was outlined at COP27 held in Sharm El-Sheikh in November 2022.
