In efforts to nurture Egypt's entrepreneurship ecosystem, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently celebrated its third cohort graduation of its Startups Accelerator Programme in Egypt. The programme was run in collaboration with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the National Bank of Egypt, and Egypt Post. Centred around the Plug and Play Tech Centre, the program runs for three months, during which selected startups are extended an array of opportunities including an abundance of resources, mentorship and networking opportunities, with an aim to facilitate their growth both on the local and global stages. The most recent graduation saw 23 startups from diverse industries complete the programme. In an effort to prepare them for the challenging business landscape, the curriculum covered significant topics such as legal affairs, product strategy, the venture capital landscape in Africa, and human resources. With this approach, USAID and its partners actively contribute to building a robust startup scene in Egypt, fostering innovation, nurturing talent and driving economic growth.
