The Chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), Samy Shaaban, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Friday with Said Mouline, the director of the Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security (AMSSNuR). The MoU aims to enhance cooperation and exchange technical information in the nuclear and radiation safety and security domains. The agreement was signed at the ENRRA headquarters and is geared towards enhancing the safe use of nuclear energy and exchanging good practices and expertise in areas such as nuclear safety regulations and guidelines, issuing licenses, inspection, and training. Following this agreement, a working plan is expected to be announced that will detail the efforts taken to follow up the agreement. It will include organizing training courses, workshops, symposiums, meetings, and visits that will be exchanged by experts from the two countries. This move is hailed as a significant step in boosting nuclear safety in both Egypt and Morocco.
