CBE governor participates in 47th session of council of Arab central banks

Fruitful discussions regarding the organization of specialized banking forums in Egypt, Tunisia, and Qatar were held during the session.

Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Hassan Abdullah attended the 47th session of the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Arab Monetary Institutions. Notable figures such as Mohamed Al-Etreby, President of the Union of Arab Banks, and Wissam Fattouh, the Secretary-General from the Arab Monetary Fund also attended the event. In this meeting, discussions regarding the organization of specialized banking forums in Egypt, Tunisia, and Qatar stirred. These platforms aimed to increase collaboration and knowledge sharing among banking professionals in the region. The delegates also talked over vital issues surrounding a new international banking legislature and rules. Notably, this conversation focused on compliance matters and strategies for effective implementation of these norms from the viewpoint of the Union of Arab Banks. The constructiveness of monetary policies to combat inflation resulting from supply imbalances was also explored. Careful consideration was given to the need for greater transparency, accountability, and governance within central banks' operations. The takeaways from the 47th session served to reinforce banking cooperation in the Arab region.
