The Ministry of Tourism aims to increase the number of tourists to 30 million by 2028

Middle East region performance was the strongest compared to other regions following the coronavirus pandemic.

The General Supervisor of the International Relations and Agreements Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Amr Abdullah said the ministry has a clear strategy in dealing with the post Covid-19 era topped by increasing the number of tourists between 28 percent to 30 percent per year to reach 30 million tourists by 2028.




In statement to MENA on Sunday 11-6-2023, during his participation in the 49th meeting of the Regional Commission for the Middle East of the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the ministry of tourism official said the World Health Organization’s (WHO) trajectories indicated that the Middle East region performance was the strongest compared to other regions following the coronavirus pandemic.


Meantime, he highlighted the ministry’s keenness on continued participation in the various international organizations, as well as world forums to strengthen cooperation and partnership and reach further agreements related to the tourism sphere, in addition to contributing to preserving traditional heritage.
