Suez Canal revenues records LE 22.7 bln last February

Revenues of the Suez Canal have recorded successive increases since the beginning of last year 2022, despite the repercussions of the war in Ukraine.

The data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed an increase in the total revenues of the Suez Canal last February, compared to the same month of last year 2022, as the value of revenues amounted to about 22.7 billion pounds, while it was about 8.6 billion pounds in the same month in 2022, an increase of about 14.1 billion pounds.

 

The revenues of the Suez Canal have recorded successive increases since the beginning of last year 2022, despite the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war on the global economy. billion pounds in the following March. 


The index continued to gradually rise to reach 11.6 billion pounds last April, then to 12 billion pounds last May, 12.3 billion pounds last June, and rise to 13.3 billion pounds last July.

 

The agency’s data added that the index completed the rise last August to record 14.2 billion pounds, before it recorded 13.3 billion pounds last September, and rose again to 14.3 billion pounds last October, then 17.3 billion pounds last November, and 18.2 billion pounds.

 

At the end of the year in December, the new year 2023 opened with revenues of about 23 billion pounds, which is the largest increase from February 2022 until last February ever.
