Egypt exerts great efforts to encourage green economy: IDSC
The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center Tuesday asserted Egypt's efforts towards the green economy, pointing out to the Egyptian government's efforts to stimulate the green economy and the green trade, including the "Green Trade Initiative", a project that aims to enhance the performance of value chains.
In its analysis on the importance of the green trade, the Information Center said the initiative is working on developing a strategy for the Egyptian agricultural industry to increase exports from Egypt to European markets via Italy.
The program was implemented from 2013 to 2017 in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and the Ministry of Transport. The initiative comprises quality and production, logistics, access to financing, and access to markets, the center said.
Stimulating green trade requires adopting a plan by the state for the green economy, thus achieve sustainable consumption and production patterns and thus trading in these commodities and implement the green trade, according to the center.
