CAPMS: Egypt’s Imports of Cars Declined by $1.915 Billion by End of 2022

The data indicated that car imports were the highest in the list of the most important Egyptian imports of durable consumer goods.

Egyptian imports of cars last year 2022 recorded a decline of $1.915 billion in 12 months, as the data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMS) revealed a decline in Egyptian imports of passenger cars to reach one billion and 915 million dollars, compared to 3 billion and 664 million dollars in the same period in the year 2021, with a decline of about one billion and 749 million dollars.


The data published by the CAPMS indicated that car imports were the highest in the list of the most important Egyptian imports of durable consumer goods, as the rest of the commodities declined.


But with lower values, including refrigerators, whose value amounted to about 154 million and 799 thousand dollars in 2022, while it was about 215 million and 837 thousand dollars in the previous year, with a decline of 61 million and 38 thousand dollars, followed by washing machines with a total value of 33 million and 481 thousand dollars in 2022, compared to 64 million and 471 thousand dollars in the previous year 2021, with a decline of about 30 million and 990 thousand dollars.
