El Molla meets with oil, gas committee of the American Chamber of Commerce

The meeting reviewed the committee’s activity during the recent period and its future plans in coordination with the petroleum sector.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla held a meeting with the Oil and Gas Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham Egypt) which comprises major American oil and gas companies operating in Egypt.


The meeting reviewed the committee’s activity during the recent period and its future plans in coordination with the petroleum sector in areas of common interest.


During the meeting, El Molla highlighted the importance of cooperation and strategic partnership between the petroleum sector and its foreign partners, with the aim of developing the oil and gas industry in Egypt and achieving common goals.


The Minister stated that this cooperation was one of the factors for the success of organizing a carbon removal day within the thematic days of the COP27 climate summit, as well as the success of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2023), which is gaining great global interest year after year.


The meeting was attended by Amr Abou Eita, Chairman of the Committee and Chairman of ExxonMobil Egypt; Karim El-Dessouky, Vice-Chairman of the Committee and Vice-President of Bechtel and General Manager of the company in Egypt; Anis Aboulnaga, Country Manager of Chevron Egypt; Sylvia Menassa, CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt; Hisham Fahmy, CEO of the Chamber’s office in the US; Sherif Hasaballah, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Petroleum Affairs; Ahmed Khalifa, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Projects; and Alaa Hagar, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for the Technical Office.
