The Egyptian government aims to transform half of its economy into the green economy within the next two years, as the state intends to allocate 50% of its investment plan and budget to the green economy and implement green projects by the fiscal year 2024/2025, according to what the Ministry of Planning confirmed in its report.

According to the report issued by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on the state’s investment plan for the current fiscal year, which is directed to the Planning and Budget Committee in the House of Representatives (HoR), the government makes more efforts every year towards the “green economy” path.

The government is keen to raise investment allocations directed to the implementation of green investments which come within the framework of its belief in the settlement of sustainable development goals.

In the fiscal year 20/21, the government directed about 15% of the budget and the state’s investment plan for green projects, and doubled that percentage to 30 % in the following fiscal year "21/22".
