Ministry grants EGP 13 billion to support Egyptalum

the Ministry of Public Business Sector granted EGP 13 billion (approx. USD 827.5 million) to Egyptalum company to replace old with modern equipment to increase local production of aluminum.


The budget allocated will replace old machines with new technologies that use less electric energy which represents about 40% of the production cost. The new technologies have a production capacity of 250 thousand tons of aluminum. 


Egyptalum is the largest state-owned aluminum producer in Egypt and one of the largest in Africa has a total annual production of around 320,000 tonnes. The company has its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
