160 tonnes of dates shipped to friendly countries
The Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) has launched the dates distribution project to sisterly and friendly countries before the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The foundation has shipped almost 160 tonnes of dates to 11 countries to be distributed to the beneficiaries during Ramadan in collaboration with the UAE embassies in those countries.
The countries are Egypt (15 tonnes), Lebanon (10 tonnes), Pakistan (20 tonnes), Bangladesh (15 tonnes), in addition to 40 tonnes to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, 10 tonnes to Uzbekistan, 13 tonnes to Switzerland, 15 tonnes to Belgium, three tonnes to Portugal and 15 tonnes to Germany.
The move is in line with the objectives of the foundation to meet some requirements of the needy and the expatriate Arab and Muslim communities in those countries.
