Egypt’s trade deficit decreased by 25.7 percent to 27.9 billion Egyptian pounds (US$3.6 billion) in August 2015, from EGP37.5 Billion a year earlier, the state’s Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) said on Wednesday.
The decreasing in the trade deficit is due to a 22.5 percent decline in import value in August, to stand at EGP41 billion, as opposed to EGP52.9 billion in August 2014, CAPMAS said.
