Mauritania, Egypt to run farm near River Senegal

The farm will have a highly positive impact on both countries and their people.

Nouakchott and Cairo are on the verge of signing a memorandum of cooperation for the running of a pilot farm in southern Mauritania, near the River Senegal, the Egyptian ambassador, Ahmed Fadel Yaacoob announced on Thursday.The farm will have a highly positive impact on both countries and their people, Mr. Yaacoob told reporters at the end a meeting with the Mauritanian leader, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.

Yaacoob had delivered a written message from his Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi to the Mauritanian leader.

The message spoke about bilateral relations and the desire of Egypt to further strengthen such ties especially as they are currently excellent,he diplomat added.

He referenced efforts by both countries to revitalize their economic relations, recalling the return to Mauritania of Arab Contractors, one of Egypt’s largest companies.

This company has resumed its activities in Mauritania in two projects pertaining to hydraulics and road works.
