China competing in Egypt's nuclear power market
China National Nuclear (CNNC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Egypt's Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA), marking a new phase in the company's expansion in that country, according to the China Business News.
Citing a May 27 CPPC press release, the newspaper said the MOU on nuclear cooperation was signed during a visit to Egypt by a company delegation led by its chief accountant, Li Jize, between May 21-23. The company also said the two sides discussed bringing China's Hualong One nuclear power technology to Egypt, but gave no further details about the planned cooperation.
