American technology giant Microsoft has unveiled its new low-cost cell phone due to be sold in Egypt by the end of 2014, the BBC reported Monday.

The Nokia 130 mobile phone, which is due to be sold for only $25, will also be sold in other markets including India, Kenya, Pakistan and the Philippines.

The newly released device is targeted at first-time mobile phone buyers and people seeking a reliable back-up phone.

It will come in black, white and red and will feature built in video player, FM Radio and USB charging.

However, the phone lacks a data connection, meaning it cannot offer any of the firm's internet services.
