Egypt and the U.S. are partnering to promote a wide range of activities during Global Entrepreneurship, the world’s largest celebration of innovators and job creators.

The November 13-20 series of events, held this year in Alexandria and Port Said, is being developed by the Egyptian Entrepreneurs’ Business Forum (EBF) in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to bring together young entrepreneurs and experienced business leaders to showcase innovative business ideas, share challenges, explore solutions and provide mentorship.

Global Entrepreneurship Week, celebrated by millions of people in more than 120 countries, seeks to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity.

The Port Said Small/Medium Business Association and Entrepreneurs’ Business Forum (EBF), in cooperation with USAID’s Egypt’s Competitiveness Program, will support a variety of activities including competitions among young entrepreneurs for the best and most innovative business ideas. Successful entrepreneurs are invited to give keynote addresses that inspire and motivate young participants to pursue their vision for new businesses.

“These initiatives…reflect the Obama administration’s commitment to a new approach to development, one based on investment, not aid; on supporting local leadership and ideas rather than imposing our own. We believe that this approach is more likely to yield lasting results in the form of greater security, dignity, prosperity, and opportunity for more people worldwide,” said U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
