Egypt: East Oweinat to Be Linked to National Power Grid

Electricity Minister Hassan Younis said on Wednesday 19/10/2011 East Oweinat area will be linked to the national power grid on Tuesday.

Younis, in press statements, said most of the 41 operations of the Oweinat power linkage plant were finalized at a cost of LE1.1 billion to feed East Oweinat with power supply needed for reclamation of 160,000 state-owned feddans.

The project includes a 340km Toshka/East Oweinat power line, a 220/66/22 kilovolt transformer station and three diesel power stations of four megawatt capacity each, he said.
