HCST discusses development projects with EBRD team
Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) Secretary General Khaled Shraideh on Saturday discussed with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) means to benefit from the bank's support for development projects. During the meeting, Josué Tanaka, who is heading the visiting delegation, said the EBRD decided to expand its operations in support of development projects to include Jordan, Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia.
Last month, the government officially applied for membership in EBRD, which provides support for the development of market economies and democracies in countries from Central Europe to Central Asia. Highlighting Jordan's development and research programmes, Shraideh emphasised the role of the National Centre for Research and Development/Energy Research programme in maximising the use of renewable energy and energy rationing.
