The development status of Packing Machinery Industry in China

The packing machinery industry in China started late but developed quite fast. In the late 1970s most of the packing machines used in China were imported from abroad, while now China can produce almost all the types of packing machines. Additionally, the technique level of several machines even becomes the most advanced all over the world.
In 1980s, there was no packing machinery mentioned in the machinery category published by China government. At that time, there were about 100 types of packing machines in China market and the annual output value was tens million RMB only. In pace with the Economics Reform proceeding on, China government increased the investment and assistance to the research and development, the packing machinery industry became a independent industry gradually. Till 1986, there were more than 1000 types of packing machines and the annual output value reached 2 billion. Since then, China packing machinery industry entered its high speed development period, average economic growth was 20 – 30 averagely. Although there was the international crisis in 2009, the China packing machinery industry still grew 18% and output value was 140 billion, while the other industries stopped or even decreased. This made it as miracle in China Economics.
Nowadays, China packing machinery industry becomes technical independent gradually. A lot of packing machinery manufacturers established closed cooperation and communication with the scientific research organizations and universities to improve their innovation ability. On the other hand, they paid more attention to study customers’ production requirements and feedbacks in order to design new models to satisfy various market demands.
