Biblawi: Canceling sales tax cannot be applied this year or in near future
Canceling sales tax is a process that needs a lot of time due to the complexity of legal measures needed, said Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hazem el-Biblawi on Thursday 10/11/2011.
The measures needed to be taken to revoke the sales tax cannot be carried out this year or in the coming period, Biblawi added.
Sources at the Ministry said earlier that a new bill was being drafted to replace the sales tax with value added tax (VAT) to achieve more social justice.
