Egypt Interleather 2023: A great success

Egypt's leather and leather products exports have increased by 47.2 percent in the first two months of 2022, registering $16.4 million.

For the past eight years, the Cairo Interleather exhibition has been a highly successful event held in Egypt, organized by the Egyptian Chamber of Leather. Its aim is to become one of the most important leather exhibitions in the region, attracting visitors from both Egypt and overseas. This unique event invites the biggest manufacturers and exporters from around the world to showcase their products, making it an international meeting place for all areas of the leather industry.

The fair provides a platform for identifying goods, technologies, innovations, trends, and tendencies within the leather trade markets. Visitors from 67 countries attend to build network connections with major players in the industry, source new suppliers and distributors, reinforce existing relations, and discover new products and services at special prices. The fair presents products and services, technologies and innovations, trends, and tendencies for trade markets.

In recent times, Egypt's leather and leather products exports have increased by 47.2 percent in the first two months of 2022, registering $16.4 million compared to $11.1 million for the same period last year. One of the most recent leather industry development projects is Roubeki City, situated 54 km from Cairo along the Cairo/Suez Road. It is considered a national project that brings many benefits and advantages to the state and society. The objectives of this project are to increase production from half-finished 125 million square feet to full-finished 350 million square feet annually, double industrial exports from $170 million to $800 million annually, and raise productivity from 60 square feet/worker/day to the world average rate of 250 square feet/worker/day.
