Samsung Electronics recently announced signing a collaboration protocol with the Ministry of Education. The collaboration protocol was signed on October 13th, 2013 by Mr. Mohamed Hossam, Deputy to the Minister of Education in Beni Sweif and Mr. Duke Park, General Manager of Samsung Egypt in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Magdy Al Bateety, Governor of Beni Sweif. As per this collaboration protocol, Samsung will be able to renovate 11 computer labs in some of Bani Sweif’s schools; under the umbrella of “Life Makers/Sonaa Al Hayat” - a non-profit Organization.

Commenting on signing the collaboration protocol, Mr. Park says “Samsung believes that supporting the advancement and development of this generation's skills through technology is the first step to shaping a community’s future. Samsung feels that this new generation deserves every opportunity to succeed in achieving their goals and this is why we are thrilled to help by providing Samsung's innovative technology to the communities in Upper Egypt.”

Under this collaboration protocol, Samsung will work on renovating the computer labs in these schools through providing the needed devices and internet connection networks including computers and printers. Moreover, Samsung will train teachers on how to use these devices in order to optimize students’ opportunities to develop their technological skills to be best equipped to utilize the tools of the future. Over the years, Samsung has been successfully offering support to the education sector in Egypt as a responsible player in the society.

George Seddik, Director of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Egypt, added "At Samsung, we are always keen to support children in all fields, especially education; as part of our global corporate social responsibility strategy. We started our initiative to develop schools since 2011, and since then we were able to renovate several computer labs in nearly 20 schools in Assiut, Minya, Sohag and Qena. We have provided those schools with nearly 400 laptops, 20 printers and about 10 projectors. We also worked on training more than 100 teachers on how to use these devices efficiently. We look forward to take this initiative on a wider scale and expand it even more to provide outstanding technological possibilities for schools in Upper Egypt. "
