As Amr Diab Academy enters phase 2, the YouTube community can begin voting for their favorite singing talent by viewing and liking the videos uploaded to Amr Diab’s official YouTube Channel. More than 500 fans and singers from around the world have entered their video performances into the competition. Votes will be collected from August 1st – September 15th and the 30 contestants receiving the most votes will be announced on September 16 by Amr Diab himself.

“Allowing the YouTube community the chance to change the life of one of these talented contestants is really what makes this Academy so unique,” said Amr Diab. “By simply voting for their favorite singer, the public can help make someone’s dream come true. These opportunities don’t happen often so I encourage music lovers everywhere to make their voices heard by either submitting videos or voting for their favorite contestant.”

The top 30 contestants will have the opportunity to receive tutorials and guidance on improving their performance via Google+ hangout workshops with the Amr Diab Academy, comprised of several iconic musicians, vocalists, music producers, sound engineers and industry veterans. The top 30 will then be required to record a second Amr Diab song and video to enter into another round of judging, this time by the Amr Diab Academy. The top 5 will then be chosen by Amr Diab himself, with the overall winner to be selected by the YouTube community in a final public vote.

The Amr Diab Academy grand prize is a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform live on stage with Amr Diab during his New Year’s Eve concert. The winner will be announced on December 15th, 2012.
