Nestle Egypt holds press conference at the company's headquarter

Celebrating its 100th anniversary in Egypt, Nestle explained its new expansion strategy and prospective investment opportunities.

Nestle Egypt, the food and beverage worldwide company held a press conference at the company's headquarter on the occasion of its 100th anniversary for its presence in Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Suresh Narayanan, CEO and chairman of Nestle Egypt, a number of officials of the company and a group of specialized journalists.

Mr. Suresh Narayanan stated that Nestle is committed to injecting new investments valued at one billion Egyptian pounds in the market during the period from 2011 to 2014; pointing out that half of these investments has been already injected last year.

He asserted that the company is adopting an expansion strategy in Egypt through the expansion of the existing factories, the injection of investments in the infrastructure and raising the efficiency of the distribution of the company's products in all governorates. The company is still considering Egypt among the most important markets in which it is operating, due to the huge number of inhabitants and the trade agreements signed between Egypt and several countries of the world, which contribute in growing the exports of the company.

It's worth mentioning that Nestle Company is running 24 factories in the African continent and provides around 29 thousand direct jobs and more than 50 thousand indirect jobs. Its products are sold in all the 53 African countries. Last but not least, Nestlé began its activities in Africa at the end of the nineteenth century and established its industrial presence in 1927 by opening its first factory in South Africa.
