Medical Devices and Diagnostics Global Services, LLC, a division of the Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director, Data Architecture. This position is located in EMEA or the United States and reports to the Senior Director, Medical Devices Architecture.

Medical Devices and Diagnostics Global Services, LLC, represents more than manufacturing sites and, employees who plan, source, manufacture and deliver high-quality and cost-effective medical products to our customers around the globe each day. Work of the MDD organization supports a multitude of product platforms, new products and delivery systems that are used in a wide range of procedures throughout the healthcare industry, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, minimally invasive surgery, hospital sterilization, clinical laboratory testing, diabetes management, joint replacement surgery and vision care.

The company is seeking a visionary leader who can combine Information Technology (IT) expertise with knowledge of the health care environment to lead transformational change in the way we accelerate business value realization by leveraging available and emerging platforms that personify enterprise architecture in Master Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Big Data and Cloud Based Data Technologies. This role is represented as a core member of the IT Medical Devices Architecture Leadership Team.

The new Director must bring strong thought leadership around enterprise business intelligence/analytics architecture, design and strategy experience. Seek out opportunities for simplification, capability enablement and standardization of the IT solutions landscape, instituting best practices and lowering costs. In addition, with an eye towards improving business operations, he/she will focus on vendor contracts and negotiations with a charter to improve the way the organization operates. Finally, the ability to collaborate and influence other directors, executives and the team and develop a strong leadership pipeline is an important factor for success.

Specific Responsibilities:

End-to-end global responsibility for creating and aligning Data Strategy with strategic business intent and establishing the IT roadmap; provides architecture direction and guidance; ensures alignment with Strategic Roadmaps, Enterprise Blueprints, and J&J Technology Standards; drives consistency and quality of the Architecture artifacts (business process architecture, data architecture, etc.)
Establishes strategic roadmaps and governs key aspects of solution implementation related to Data Management (acquisition, ingest, standardization, enrichment, etc.) and projects to provide end-to-end reporting and analytics capabilities.
The implementation solution will involve the use of Big Data capabilities like Hadoop and NoSQL databases as well as leveraging traditional DW technologies where applicable.
Architect target architecture and strategy for key business initiatives ensuring alignment with big data strategy and future state architecture vision.
Strongly influences the future direction of business solutions based on technology vision. Brings external benchmarks and inputs into decision making to keep the solution current/leading edge, thus contributing to the competitive value of MDD. Advise senior management on the application data technology within their business areas/regions.
Represents MDD IT strategy in Johnson and Johnson-wide Architecture forums. Collaborate closely with other JNJ sector Architects to drive synergies and leverage solutions where applicable.
Externally, drives technology roadmap of key vendor partners (e.g. Oracle, SAP) to maximize alignment and value to meet MDD needs.
Drive proof-of-concept and industry benchmarking efforts to set strategic global reference architectures that enable new business capabilities.
Deeply influences at VP and CIO levels of the organization providing guidance and advice for strategic 3-5 year technology direction.
Engage with Project/Program teams to ensure SDLC deliverables meet or exceed SDLC.
Mask the complexity of IT/Architecture processes through facilitation, partnerships, and focus on customer satisfaction.
Engage business leaders of supported functions and strive to be viewed as an integral part of their stakeholder network.
Meet or exceed customer requirements with respect to time, cost efficiency, and business value.






Qualifications


A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required
A minimum of years Enterprise Architecture experience in Data required
Proven experience in best practices in Master Data Management, Data Standards/Definitions, Data Quality, and Big Data required
Proven experience in enterprise integration with a focus on cloud computing and traditional ERP (JDE, Oracle, SAP) and DW environments
Experience with the various tools and frameworks of the Hadoop ecosystem (MapReduce, YARN, Pig, Hive, Hbase) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J)
Experience with streaming and event processing technologies (Kafka, Flume, Storm, Spark) that support real-time analytics and actions
Experience with Cloud based data technologies (AWS RDS, Dynamo, Redshift, S3, EMR, Google BigTable, BigQuery, Dataflow)
Experience with integration methodologies and tools
Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL and Relational Database Systems
Experience with data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling tools or underlying algorithms
Experience finding refined solutions to complex design challenges and helping the entire team meet its commitments
Must have a “big picture” mind set and always think beyond a single project, business domain, or operating company
Proven and credible business knowledge and experience in the applications that are supported across the Commercial, Quality and Compliance or Supply Chain functional domains
Must have experience driving strategic roadmaps, initiatives, programs or projects that enable blueprint realization
Must have experience in developing strategies and roadmaps with IT architecture focus (e.g. technology blueprints, business process harmonization blueprints, systems integration maps, etc.)
Experience with leading multi-company teams and global efforts are preferred
Previous people management experience is preferred
Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate business requirements, direction, and initiatives from an enterprise-level perspective
Proven ability to manage team within a matrixed structure
Demonstrated understanding and management of financial processes and results related to projects, departmental budgets, and enterprise
Deep technical knowledge of information technology relevant to major business processes
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively apply technology expertise in a rapidly changing business and technology environment
Experience working in a cross-functional environment and building strong cross-functional partnerships required
TOGAF and ITIL certification preferred
Experience and practice in Architecture preferred
