Managing Editor needed for Daily News Egypt

A new position has arisen for an experienced Managing Editor to take charge of the print edition of Daily News Egypt. This is a role of big responsibility and pressure, where she/he will be managing a team of editors and reporters to ensure that the content produced on a daily basis is of high quality and timely. The Managing Editor will report directly to the Chef Editor and will be expected to deliver excellent results as this publication aims to maintain its position at the top of the print press market as Egypt’s first independent English language daily newspaper.

A successful candidate would be a native English speaker, preferably with good communication skills in Arabic. She/he should possess significant experience within the industry and ideally maintains a high level of cultural understanding of the sensitivities involved in daily publishing. A candidate does not necessarily have to come from a current position as a Managing Editor. The role may suit an ambitious and talented editor who is looking for the next step up the career ladder. A successful candidate should have good understanding of production operations, daily workflow and budgeting.
