Egypt imposes new fee on imported mobile phones

Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulations Authority (NTRA) has imposed an extra charge on all imported mobile phones, starting from Wednesday.

SICO, set up in December 2017 and has 200 million Egyptian pounds ($12.43 million) in paid-up capital, sells phones under the brand name Nile X.

Nokia 6.1 Plus provides a good viewing experience with a large screen, and a larger smartphone design.

Mobile internet was used by 34.4 percent of all mobile subscribers, up by 1.8 percent. The number of USB modem devices remained unchanged at 3.48m.

Chinese smartphone companies control over a third of the sales of the Egyptian market, according to StatCounter's index in August.
