Lenders compete to fund EgyptAlum’s USD 3 bn alumina facility

EgyptAlum and Alba are pushing forward with the largest alumina refining facility the country has ever built as international lenders compete.

The expansion will carry an investment ticket of USD 750-900 mn and doubles the Naga Hammadi complex’s capacity.

Egypt expands investments and operations in building material manufacturing in cooperation with French construction materials group Saint-Gobain.

Egypt is set to benefit from a major new industrial investment as plans move forward to establish a large-scale aluminum production facility.

The move also includes several firms linked to the cement value chain, such as Alexandria for Refractories, a supplier of materials used in cement.
