Egypt’s real GDP growth projected to rise to 4.7% in FY26/27 amid reform-driven recovery

Standard Chartered expected Egypt’s economic recovery to gather pace in FY2026/2027, which started at 1 July 2026, forecasting GDP growth of 4.7%.

The minister stressed that investment in technology represents an investment in the future and a key pillar in building a more competitive economy.

The forum is the first event of its kind dedicated to documenting the journey of Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

The expansion plans come as the EGX-listed grocer reported a 47% y-o-y jump in its first-quarter net income.

Badawi said clearing the debt removed a key ⁠obstacle to new investment inflows and would support increased exploration, drilling.
