Egypt, France sign MoU on roadmap for locomotive industry localization

The Egyptian Cabinet approved in principle in July an investment plan by the French company Alstom to establish two factories in Alexandria.

The construction of the factory, which will provide 714 direct job opportunities, is scheduled to be completed during the first quarter of 2025.

The state’s goal is to ultimately eliminate load shedding, the current electricity grid is capable of meeting Egypt’s electricity.

The figures showed that the after Egyptian engineering exports recorded levels that are the highest in the history of Egyptian engineering exports.

The Chairman of SCZONE, Walid Gamal El-Din, also revealed that the overall investments between China and SCZONE have exceeded $2 billion.
