Egypt ranks 65 in tourism competitiveness

Egypt climbed 9 places in the World Economic Forum's index from 74th place last year, making it the top improved rank in the MENA region.
Egypt improved 9 places on the World Economic Forum's Travel and Tourism competitiveness index. The country has carried out several marketing and tourism campaigns trying to reach pre-2011 levels of tourist arrivals and it managed to a great extent.

Egypt was the most improved country on the index in the MENA region.
Cultural resources and environmental awareness and sustainability helped Egypt climb higher on the index compared to its peers; this besides its improved security and safety ranking.
