Mobile internet consumption in Egypt rises 12%: NTRA

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority issued a report on Saturday outlining internet usage indicators over a 24-hour period in 2026.

Egypt has the location and connectivity to be a data center hub, but high costs, infrastructure gaps, and energy constraints are holding it back.

Hundreds of Egyptian developers participated in this competition and presented innovative cloud computing and artificial intelligence ideas.

Khadraoui called on the government to intervene quickly to stop any new increases in mobile and internet service prices.

Egypt remains the first in Africa and 70th in the world in the fixed Internet speed, with a speed of 76.38 megabits.
