EU to disburse €1.5 bln to Egypt in June under strategic partnership

The upcoming 1.5 billion euro disbursement comes in addition to around 8 billion euros in investments already mobilized under the partnership.

They focused on local manufacturing of medicines and vaccines, reducing reliance on imports, and increasing the exchange of medical expertise.

The currency has gained approximately 4% against the dollar since last Friday, outperforming all major and emerging-market currencies.

The total investment could rise to around $18 million if new discoveries are made and subsequently developed.

As part of this partnership, Schneider Electric will participate as the sustainability and technology partner for the ClimAccelerator programme.
