Egypt and China’s Cloud Chain plot $2bn ‘carbon-neutral’ textile city

The country has the “necessary assets” to become a regional hub for integrated textile manufacturing.

The project, worth up to USD 2 bn, will be developed over two 24-month phases and include 30-50 textile companies.

New project framed as a bid to turn the country into a regional hub for sustainable textile manufacturing.

New programme aims to strengthen textile production clusters, expand exports and revive the global standing of Egyptian cotton.

This is to help businesses establish stronger linkages with major brands, enhance production and marketing efficiency, and expand access to markets.
