IFC extends a USD 40 mn senior loan to Nile Sugar

The funding will help cultivate 13.6k feddans of sugar beet in Minya.

The abundance of supply has eased earlier market tensions but created mounting challenges for producers struggling with high costs.

This expansion has led to a substantial rise in sugar production from beet, which grew from 1.5 million tonnes to 2.5 million tonnes.
