IFC extends a USD 40 mn senior loan to Nile Sugar

The funding will help cultivate 13.6k feddans of sugar beet in Minya.

Its value of around $30 billion, has strong export momentum, but significant gaps in infrastructure and technology limiting its potential.

The abundance of supply has eased earlier market tensions but created mounting challenges for producers struggling with high costs.

This expansion has led to a substantial rise in sugar production from beet, which grew from 1.5 million tonnes to 2.5 million tonnes.

Arla seeks to voluntary delist Domty from the Egyptian Stock Exchange following the transaction.
