Egypt Adds 12,000 bbl/d in Western Desert Output in Two Weeks

As part of its strategy to boost domestic oil and gas output, the Egyptian oil and gas sector has added roughly 12,000 barrels per day (bbl/d).

The 172-station network will be operated via a new vehicle — Quick Fuel for Petroleum Products Trading and Distribution.

Badawi said clearing the debt removed a key ⁠obstacle to new investment inflows and would support increased exploration, drilling.

The government has now reduced arrears owed to international oil and gas partners to zero, after the debt had reached around $6.1 billion in 2024.

Sinai offshore oil fields have reached their highest daily production level since 2017, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum.
