Abu Simbel and Alexandria among top 3 destinations for Japanese travelers
The Japanese tourist platform “Oh!”, which provides custom-designed overseas trips and is managed by coordinators from over 50 countries worldwide, has selected Egypt as the recommended country for travel in October.
As a land where the ancient and modern intersect, Egypt offers unique attractions that cannot be experienced anywhere else, especially in October, as highlighted in their recent ranking.
First Place: Abu Simbel Temple
The reason for selecting Abu Simbel Temple as the top destination is that it offers a unique spectacle that can only be witnessed twice a year on October 22, the moment when the sun god Ra illuminates the temple’s inner walls.
The Japanese platform added that visitors will be amazed by the miraculous scenes created by the advanced astronomical knowledge of the ancient Egyptians and their harmonious understanding of nature.
Second Place: White Desert National Park
The White Desert is famous for its unique natural landscapes that evoke a sense of the Earth’s grand mystery. Its strange rock formations resemble giant, sculpted statues.
Third Place: Alexandria
Alexandria earned third place due to its rich historical background.
Known as Cleopatra’s favorite city, Alexandria flourished as a center of the ancient Mediterranean world. Many historical buildings, such as the Alexandria Library and the Ptolemaic Palace, still stand today.
