A promotion campaign in the Gulf States has been unveiled by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority. The Arab market accounts for 30 percent of tourist arrivals in Egypt.

The promotion campaign includes huge outdoor banners in the UAE and Saudi Arabia which work in parallel with an online campaign targeting the public via social media platforms as on Snapchat, Google, YouTube and Facebook in addition to video-sharing platforms like Dailymotion, as reported by Egypt Today.

Egyptian General Authority for the Promotion of Tourism's Chairman, Ahmed Yousef pointed to the importance of the Arab countries as a major market for incoming tourism to Egypt. He urged the importance of benefiting from the opportunity of gathering Arab families during the holy month of Ramadan which is an ideal chance to display the rich diversity of different tourist patterns in Egypt.

According to renowned English-language newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, The Gulf News, Egypt ranked first in the list of destinations to which UAE tourists would go for Eid al Fitr.

The newspaper added that Mamoun Hamdan, director of the Middle East, North Africa and India, a specialized travel and tourism website, said that the site recorded Egypt ranked first, followed by Saudi, Egypt Today noted.
