In Q1 2023, Egypt's liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports reached 1.9 million tons. This means Egypt managed to maintain the same level as the previous year.

The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) reported this information, attributing the increase in exports to the development of gas fields in the eastern Mediterranean region.

Regarding the trading partners, the OAPEC report indicated that approximately 76% of Egypt's total LNG exports during the quarter, equivalent to 1.44 million tons, were exported to European countries including the European Union (EU), Turkey, and Britain.

The remaining 24%, which is approximately 0.46 million tons, were received by markets in Asia.
