Samsung launches SONO School in Egypt

Samsung Electronics Egypt launches first Samsung SONO School in Egypt's Ultrasound Fetal Care Unit in Ain Shams University Hospital.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Samsung Electronics Egypt, a world leader in advanced and innovative electronics, inaugurated its first Samsung SONO School in Egypt in collaboration with Ain Shams University Hospital. The initiative includes supplying the Hospital's dedicated ultrasound fetal unit with the latest diagnostic sonography machine equipped with cutting-edge ultrasound technology.

Seung-Ho Yun, President of Samsung Electronics Egypt and Dr. Ahmed Ramy, OBGYN professor and Head of the Ain Shams University Hospital Ultrasound Fetal Care Unit, Dr. Ahmed Emad El Din Rady, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University attended the opening ceremony as a token of their support to the development of the diagnostic skills of medical practitioners and providing them with the tools to improve the level of service they provide in addition to the development of scientific researches.

“Samsung is proud to announce the opening of our first SONO School in Egypt,” stated Seung-Ho Yun, President of Samsung Electronics Egypt. “Samsung hopes to significantly reduce the number of complications from pregnancy and childbirth through early diagnosis of potential problems using the advanced medical equipment we provided to the Ultrasound Fetal Care Unit, including the Samsung WS80A Machine, Samsung HM70A and the Samsung UGEO H60.

Samsung’s collaboration with Ain Shams University Hospital offers doctors to obtain training at the Ultrasound Fetal Care Unit and the chance to use the most advanced medical equipment available in the world to provide the best care to expecting mothers on Egypt. In addition to receiving specialized training on using ultra-sound devices to enhance their diagnostic skills with the ultimate objective of contributing to the development of the healthcare sector in addition to research development in Egypt.

Samsung’s cooperation with Ain Shams University stems from the University’s ongoing endeavor on the education, training and research levels, being one of the largest medical institutions in Africa and the Middle East that receives numerous medical cases and provides training to medical practitioners from all over the country.
