Responsibilities:

This position serves as a very important part of the Shell governance team overseeing Shells interests in Egypt. In particular, the job purposes are:

a. Coaching/mentoring of BaPetCo reservoir engineers
b. QA/QC of reservoir engineering work
c. Provide expert technical advice (reservoir simulation, waterflooding, etc)
d. Support the WRM team with conformance control for the waterfloods
e. Champion the introduction of new technologies
f. Support business planning and annual resource reporting

The reservoir engineer will be accountable for
1. Ensuring QA/QC of technical reservoir engineering work
2. Ensuring that relevant new technologies are introduced into BaPetCo

Skills

- University degree in Physics, Mathematics, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline;
- Broad understanding of reservoir and petroleum engineering;
- Expert understanding of reservoir simulation;
- Commitment to staff development and mentoring experience in a multi-cultural environment;
- Communicate effectively across disciplines, department and companies;
- Personal drive, ability to cope high work load peaks, good at priority setting, self-starter and willingness to work against tight deadlines;
- Interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural differences are extremely important;

This job will provide the reservoir engineer the opportunity to develop both his technical and non-technical skills. Although the job will be challenging there will be flexibility in the job execution to allow, in coordination with the principal reservoir engineer, to maximize the personal development of the senior reservoir engineer. During the assignment in Egypt there may be opportunities to move to one of the two principal reservoir engineering positions.
