The 2nd edition of the Women In Energy Awards - as part of the Egypt Petroleum Show.
We are pleased to announce the EGYPS 2019 Women in Energy Awards taking place in Cairo on Wednesday 13 February 2019 as part of the Egypt Petroleum Show.
The Women In Energy Awards honour female talent within Egypt, North Africa and the Mediterranean region, providing you with an invaluable opportunity to raise your profile on a global platform.
The 2nd edition of the Women In Energy Awards will see the launch of the STEM Star of the Year award category. This category recognises high potential female university students currently pursuing STEM degrees with a keen interest in pursuing careers in the oil and gas industry.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
High potential female students (between 21 - 30 years old)
Pursuing STEM related degrees (Bachelors, Masters or PhD), and have a keen interest in pursuing careers in the oil and gas industry
Female students from Egypt, Africa, and the Mediterranean regions may submit entries
WHO CAN SUBMIT ENTRIES?
Entries can be made by the individual directly
Universities can also enter individual students
Universities may enter more than one female student in this category
Please do not submit your entries more than once. If multiple entries are received, the most recent entry will be considered. Older entries will be deleted.
PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS IN SUPPORT OF YOUR ENTRY:
Mandatory Documents:
Cover letter summarising why the individual has been nominated (not more than 1,000 words) or is submitting their entry. Your cover letter must be personalised, and must ‘tell a story’.
The cover letter can include information on:
Research & development Projects the individual has undertaken and how they have displayed their potential in these projects
Initiatives taken within the university to demonstrate peer-to-peer learning and mentorship
Why they are interested in the in oil and gas industry, and how can they contribute
Identity proof in support of the professional’s age
A copy of the university admission card
Supporting Documents (optional):
Recommendation letters from the University Dean, professors, and/or students supporting display of exemplary potential by the candidate.
Articles, publications, if any
Evidence of industry awards/recognition received, if any
Please ensure that any evidence submitted to support the entry should not be older than 1 April 2017 and not later than
1 June 2018.
ENTRIES WILL BE EVALUATED BY THE JURY ON:
Originality: Quality and originality of the submission
Research and Development: Research and development projects the student has undertaken and how they can create an impact in the real world
Soft skills: Candidate’s display of leadership skills, team work ability, communication skills, and adaptability
