Power Generation Projects Egypt will discuss the government’s energy mix strategy including coal, gas, nuclear, waste to energy, and renewable energy and the role of the private sector in facilitating the development of Egypt’s power sector.
Topics to be discussed include latest project opportunities, regulatory updates and subsidies, energy efficiency solutions, privatisation initiatives, environmental framework, and financing strategies.
Egypt has recently announced that it intends to double its current power generation capacity of about 30,000 megawatts by 2020 to address power shortages and support a growing population and economy.
From conventional power generation using natural gas and coal, to renewable energy schemes using wind and solar, some of the industry’s biggest names have pledged to invest more than US$20 billion to improve Egypt’s energy sector.
