Industry Overview:
In the seventies, the region saw the emergence of the converting industry for tissue paper consumer products. At that time, very few paper converting factories were established in Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey.
By the end of the nineties, the consumption of disposable products started to grow. with a number of new investments were made in tissue manufacturing; many tissue producers started to invest in new machines or new mills, not just in already-producing countries like Turkey or Egypt but also in countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The larger boost in capacity was introduced in the nineties and the 2000’s, allowing tissue manufacturers to meet their market demand and also export to Europe and Africa.
