Technical Manager For Shell Egypt

Shell companies have been finding and producing oil and gas around the world for over a century.
Shell | Cairo | 31.01.2012

The job combines the two roles of Technical Manager SENV and Deputy Petroleum Engineering General Manager in Bapetco. This position has dual reporting lines; the SENV Technical Manager reporting line is through the Shell Egypt Chairman & Managing Director (and dotted line to EPM-Technical), and the Bapetco Deputy Petroleum Engineering General Manager reports to the Bapetco General Manager & Managing Director.

Bapetco is the EGPC/Shell JV operating assets on behalf of both shareholders in Egypt's Western Desert.

Given the unique combination of the dual SENV and Bapetco roles, the incumbent is in a key position to drive and ensure integration and alignment between the two companies. With this and given the additional challenge of the dual signatory management structure in Bapetco, success in this position depends on the incumbent's ability to build effective relationships and achieve results largely via influence.

The incumbent is one of the principal drivers in developing both companies' short-term and long-term strategies, business plans, and asset management plans.

As such, the position covers a variety of business processes including hydrocarbon maturation, Exploration support (including support in notional field development planning for exploration prospects, potential farm-ins and bid rounds, and preparing field development plans for new discoveries), new business development, and governance support to JVs operating existing producing assets.
