The Sharm El Sheikh International Conference Center in Egypt is set to host the first edition of the African Tourism Forum 2024 (ATF24Egypt) on May 20–21. This landmark event is expected to attract more than 2,000 professionals in the tourism industry, including specialists and investors, all aiming to enhance cooperation, discuss sector developments, and explore new tourism opportunities within Africa and Egypt.

Enhancing Tourism Through Collaboration and Innovation

Organized by GMT Fair and Rixos Hotels Egypt, ATF24Egypt will serve as a vital platform for tourism experts to strengthen connections within the industry. Participants will benefit from a variety of innovative ideas presented through conferences, panels, B2B meetings, and specialized courses. This forum will provide a space for exchanging business insights and exploring the latest trends and opportunities in tourism.

Selçuk Meral, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GMT Fuarcılık, emphasized the forum’s objective: “Launching the African Tourism Forum in Sharm El Sheikh aims to create added value for the tourism sector, professionals, investors, and dynamics, paving the way for new perspectives and providing a platform for business and information exchange most effectively, much like the Antalya Tourism Fair in Turkey, which has been ongoing for five years.”

Rixos Hotels Egypt: Pioneering Tourism Innovation

Erkan Yıldırım, CEO and Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt, expressed pride in sponsoring the African Tourism Forum, the first of its kind in both Africa and Egypt. He stated, “It is a great honour for Rixos Hotels Egypt to sponsor the African Tourism Forum. At Rixos Hotels Egypt, we see this opportunity as a significant responsibility in shaping the future of tourism. We aim to add great value to both the tourism sectors in Egypt and Africa by enhancing cooperation, innovation, and communication.”

A Promising Future for African Tourism

The African Tourism Forum is envisioned as an annual event starting in 2025, aimed at celebrating diversity and boosting the prosperity of the tourism industry in Egypt and Africa. The forum will assist leading brands in shaping their strategic plans for 2024-2025, focusing on key advantages such as economic growth, employment, and revenue generation.

GMT Fair has been a pioneer in introducing a new concept of exhibitions exclusively focused on business meetings for tourism professionals. Since 2019, the ATF Forums series, beginning with the Antalya Tourism Fair, has brought together over 20,000 professional participants and 2,000 travel agencies through individual business meetings every October.

ATF24Egypt is set to become one of the largest and most influential tourism fairs in Egypt and Africa, marking a significant milestone in the region’s tourism industry.
