Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSC) Conference in its first edition in Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa region, which was hosted by the Misr University for Informatics (EUI) in Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital with the participation of more than 800 experts who specialize in the field of data science. artificial intelligence; The conference is considered one of the largest conferences in the field of data science and artificial intelligence in the world.


The conference discussed a number of specialized technological topics, most notably generative artificial intelligence, natural language and text analysis, computer and machine vision, deep learning, innovation using data, artificial intelligence and machine learning processes, data engineering, data in the cloud, and uses of artificial intelligence in medicine. Building data and AI products, claims engineering, open data and use of data for public good, marketing-enhanced analytics, and end-to-end solutions.


The conference activities, which were organized by Misr University of Informatics in a strategic partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) and Ntervento, in addition to the participating industry representatives, namely Cyshield and Huawei, were held during the period from April 18 to 20, where the conference activities began over two days via the Internet, and concluded. Its activities on the third day at the university’s headquarters in Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.


And in his word; Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, confirmed that Egypt has a huge wealth of data resulting from all the digitization systems that have been operating in the country for decades. The challenge arises in how to manage this data and what it includes of several very important concepts and axes related to protecting data privacy and organizing data exchange, how to use this data, produce the largest number of it, and use it in forecasting and making appropriate decisions. Pointing out the cooperation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with a number of relevant authorities in implementing the first phase of the national strategy for artificial intelligence. Noting that the Applied Innovation Center was established to find technological solutions using artificial intelligence in a number of sectors such as health care and agriculture. He stressed that Egypt’s ranking has advanced more than 50 places in the global artificial intelligence rankings.
