Tourism Minister, Qatari Ambassador Discuss Ways to Enhance Joint Co-op

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Issa received Qatari Ambassador to Egypt Tariq Ali Farj Al-Ansari, at the Ministry's headquarters in the NAC.

This meeting came to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and antiquities, which would contribute to moving forward towards broader horizons of fruitful cooperation, especially in light of the Minister's recent visit to the Qatari capital, Doha.


The meeting was attended by Ambassador Khaled Tharwat, the Minister's advisor for international relations and the general supervisor of the General Directorate of International Relations and Agreements at the Ministry, and Mr. Fahad Hamad Al-Eida, First Secretary at Qatari embassy in Cairo.


 


The Minister began the meeting by welcoming the Ambassador, wishing him success in his duties, praising the distinguished relations between the two countries, which are witnessing positive developments in recent times.


 


He also pointed out to his recent visit to Qatar, during which he held a series of important meetings with the Qatari side to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in many files related to the field of tourism.


 


During the meeting, the mechanisms of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism investment in Egypt, especially in the hotel sector, combating illegal trade in cultural property, recovering stolen and smuggled antiquities outside the country, and training and exchanging experiences in the field of museums, restoration and excavation work, were discussed.
